Ten organizations that have been kicked out of Darfur were Oxfam Great Britain, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Holland, Norwegian Refugee Council, International Rescue Committee, Mercy Corps, Save the Children UK, CARE International, Action Against Hunger, Charity Housing Foundation and Solidarite. They were kicked out after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on March 4th, 2009. About 600,ooo people are going to be affected by this action. These people are going to lack humanitarian aid, such as clean water, food, and refugee protection. Information from this website.

A Cheap way to help.

A cheap and effective way to help Sudanese people is to let other people know about what is going on. Watch this Video. It talks about how not a lot of people know about this genocide. They might be doing other important things, like him watching a football game. Yes its important, but its also important to be informed about what's going on in the world. As long as people know about this mass killing more and more people will get involved, and change the out come of this crisis. Helping is not just about money and donating items. Other options are available, donating time to volunteer, writing a letter to the government, or by word of mouth. We are all very good at that. These simple things can save many lives. Lets all do something about it. Tell people about the Darfur genocide so the world is aware of this problem.

What can we do to help?

There are many ways to help people in Darfur. One effective way to help is through nonprofit organizations that are located all over the nation. They all have different ways to help, by donating money or clothing etc. The main point of nonprofit organizations is to help those people in need. Some websites where information is available to help are organizations such as CARE , World Vision, and Save Darfur. In these websites there is information about what they do with the money, what is happening and how others are taking action. Also, a great idea is to start a fundraiser in schools, church, work, or in the community. Then giving that money to a nonprofit organization of choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who came up with this brilliant idea. I have had many comments about starting a fundraiser, but I might help a young sophomore girl at my school, Moline High, to raise money. I will write about her experience of what she is doing to help change this situation, in a upcoming blog.

How did this genocide come to be?

Sudan gained its Independence from the UK in 1956. Which gave the Sudanese people more liberty to make their own government. Because of this liberty sudan has been involved in constant civil strife for the past two decades as said in http://www.e-w-s.orga/html/historicalbackground.html. The protagonists of this on going war are the farming-African and the Arab-Sudanese which have greater political power then the farming-Africans. This disagreement got more intense in 1983 after a drought that killed 95,000 people. The drought could have been prevented by a government warning. Arab-Sudanese were blamed for the killing because of there political power. Outraged by the carelessness of the Arab-Sudanese, Farming-Africans started to expand their land. Consequently, decreasing available vegetation for the Arabs cattle. Inferiated, Arabs allied with Libya forcing Africans to form their own rebel militia. Janjaweed militia was then brought by the Arabs to kill all the African Darfuris. Many innocent men and women have been kill and although many ceasedfires were declaire they all have been ignored. In affect, Sudan declared genocide in 2003. Increasing the number of refugee camps and Darfuris fleeing the country.
