Organizations that were kicked out of Darfur.

Ten organizations that have been kicked out of Darfur were Oxfam Great Britain, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Holland, Norwegian Refugee Council, International Rescue Committee, Mercy Corps, Save the Children UK, CARE International, Action Against Hunger, Charity Housing Foundation and Solidarite. They were kicked out after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on March 4th, 2009. About 600,ooo people are going to be affected by this action. These people are going to lack humanitarian aid, such as clean water, food, and refugee protection. Information from this website.

I think it is so sad that some people will not get clean water or food. But in your blog I think you need to discuss in more detail about why these organizations have got kicked out.

  3. Hi Yuli!

I just wanted to let you know of a great company that is helping Mercy Corps and Save the Children fundraise through responsible shopping. Check out CafeGive at www.cafegive.com. A portion of all purchases through their widgets goes directly to the cause of your choice. We would love to have a blog shout out. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions or comments. Here is to making changes in Darfur!
