What can we do to help?

There are many ways to help people in Darfur. One effective way to help is through nonprofit organizations that are located all over the nation. They all have different ways to help, by donating money or clothing etc. The main point of nonprofit organizations is to help those people in need. Some websites where information is available to help are organizations such as CARE , World Vision, and Save Darfur. In these websites there is information about what they do with the money, what is happening and how others are taking action. Also, a great idea is to start a fundraiser in schools, church, work, or in the community. Then giving that money to a nonprofit organization of choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who came up with this brilliant idea. I have had many comments about starting a fundraiser, but I might help a young sophomore girl at my school, Moline High, to raise money. I will write about her experience of what she is doing to help change this situation, in a upcoming blog.

  1. I think the biggest reason people do nothing is because they feel they can't really affect change. Doing something, no matter how small, is something . . . and something is better than nothing. Only the World Vision link works . . . the others don't.
